“Bumblefoot can play so inside, then so outside, all within eight bars, it makes my head spin. But, I like it! He is a complete original who sings, writes and plays guitar like no other. His take on “Gnaahh” is insane. Watch how he nails my Whammy Pedal parts without a Whammy pedal!!!” – Joe Satriani
The Prog Report – Legendary Dream Theater guitarist John Petrucci joins host Roie Avin to talk about his new solo album Terminal Velocity, working with Mike Portnoy again, and more. Terminal Velocity is out on streaming services on Aug 28th, and CD/Vinyl on Oct. 30th. Pre-order here: https://orcd.co/TerminalVelocity
maromaro1337 – Woah! This one was a blast! Yeah, it was hard, especially the 12/8 rhythm. It’s challenging on guitar to say the least but the Stylophone makes it 2 times harder. The Solo was also a pain in the butt. The Stylophone glitches on the fast runs and plays some strange notes (especially the second fast run)! Dimebag was just too fast and precise for this instrument! I loved Rex’s bass part here. He plays a similar part as the guitar, but add’s depth, and plays some head crushing chords. It’s a feast for all us musical freaks.
Gear: Guitars and Bass was played simultaneously on two Stylophones S1 (left tuned to A, right tuned to D). The Solo was played on Stylophones tuned to G# and C# Vocals were tuned to A, and backing vocals were tuned to D Stylophone Beatbox – tuned to D (on the hi-hat)
Channel 33 RPM – Earlier this summer I did a purge of my record collection (about 150 records I wasn’t listening to). I want to tell you about that experience, what I learned, what I did with the money, and maybe provide some food for thought.
