Old School Gamer Magazine – Retro Mag Now on Kickstarter!

Brett Weiss – – Old School Gamer Magazine, a great retro video game mag, is now on Kickstarter! Watch John Riggs, Metal Jesus Rocks, and Tim Kitzrow of NBA Jam fame talk about it. OSG Magazine is still going strong, but publisher Ryan Burger is doing a Kickstarter campaign to make it bigger and better than ever. It’s great that a physical classic gaming magazine is still being published. I write for OSG and stand behind it as a fun publication. You can check out the Kickstarter and get more info here:

1988 Ferrari Testarossa Review // Driving The Legend

The 1988 Ferrari Testarossa (~$150,000 in the used market) is an icon of 80s culture. From its stylish side strakes to its star appearance in Miami Vice, driving the Testarossa instantly makes you appear about 20 percent cooler. The mid-engine flat 12 makes a strong 385 horsepower and 362 lb ft of torque. And since this is a euro spec with a catless Tubi exhaust, it makes wonderful sounds as you climb the revs. Thomas and James are excited to see what made this car special in its era, and how it stood out from its competitors.

HDMI Switch, Splitter and Extractor Reviews & Shootout

Here’s a shootout of a bunch of HDMI splitters, switches and audio extractors I’ve been using. They’re all zero-lag devices (even in downscaling modes!) and appear to work well with retro gaming devices, including the OSSC. The first “reviews” are the longest, as they explain everything you need to know about these devices, then the rest reference those.

The Ouya is still alive…in 2022 | MVG

The Ouya released in 2013 and was hyped as a disrupter to the video game industry. After a successful Kickstarter campaign, it famously was discontinued by 2015 due to lack of sales and an underwhelming catalog of good games. It was labelled as a failure and with it, its Ouya storefront was shutdown in 2019 reducing the micro console to a mere paperweight. But a community of passionate Ouya fans have kept the console alive thanks to a homebrew Ouya API replacement. In this episode we dust on my old Ouya from 2013 and bring it back to life once again in 2022!
