Chronik Spartan – Dino Crisis was a fantastic series of video games that included two brilliant games on the PS1, a couple of spin offs and a not so great Dino Crisis 3 on the Xbox.
Dino Crisis had you playing as Regina as you investigated a secret weapons research facility. Although know best for it’s PS1 incarnation, due to it’s popularity there was also a Dino Crisis Dreamcast version.
Not so long ago we heard the amazing news of a Dino Crisis remake confirmed. More recently we’ve heard of that Dino Crisis remake cancelled. It seems as though the extreme popularity of Capcoms Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 3 Remake has them 100% focused on Resident Evil remakes. To the point that we are now hearing that the Resident Evil 4 remake is now in production. This to me seems ridiculous! Why would you need a remake of Resident Evil 4 when it was already remade for the PS3 in HD? This goes against exactly what I think constitutes a good reason to make a remake.
Eric Barone – also known as ConcernedApe – grew up in Auburn, playing video games. One game he particularly loved – Harvest Moon, a farm simulation game that invites players to tend to a farm and start a life in a small town. There was something different about it. It was quieter, simpler.
After Barone graduated from UW Tacoma, he found himself living in Seattle with not a ton of job prospects and plenty of time on his hands.
“So I decided to start making a game, a slightly bigger game, to get better at programming and put on my resume,” Barone says.
Originally, the game was a resume-builder that was supposed to take six months. Six months turned into four years. Barone lived in Capitol Hill for part of the those four years, working as an usher at the Paramount Theater while developing the game. The game was a farming simulator that paid homage to his favorite series as a kid – Harvest Moon.
PolyMega All in One retro game console is here! As a part of the PolyMega beta test I received my unit last week. In this video we take a close look at the system. Is it really worth $299? How is the emulation? Does it really run Sega Saturn games? Lets find out!
This is a secret car collection I’ve been trying to visit for the past 3 years with no luck. However recently, I was asked to detail a couple very rare cars, Ferrari, Corvette, Camaro, and a Lamborghini to name a few…for an upcoming auction. The first was a Bizzarrini P538 which is valued at nearly $1,000,000 and is by the far the most expensive barn find I have had the privilege of detailing. This is the first wash and paint polishing this vehicle has received in over 32 years. It was parked next to a Noble with a Ferrari engine which was also in need of an extreme detailing. I wanted to call this a disgusting car make over or a disaster detailing junk yard find, but the Bizzarrini is just too awesome to give it such a title. Hope you enjoy!
From easter eggs, references and awesome design touches, we’ve found 21 brilliant little details in Resident Evil 3.
On this episode of War Stories, Ars Technica sits down with Rob Cunningham to revisit the groundbreaking 1999 3D real-time strategy game, Homeworld. When Rob and a group of friends founded Relic Entertainment, they set out to marry the gameplay of Command & Conquer with the feel of Battlestar Galactica – all in a full 3D environment. On top of the everpresent memory limitations of the day, the team needed to get creative in figuring out how to orient players when, in space, no direction is up.
